SIKU: Knowing Our Ice: documenting Inuit sea-ice knowledge and use. 2010.

The IPY SIKU project explored indigenous peoples’ knowledge and use of sea ice from social and cultural perspectives. The book incorporates local terminologies and classifications, place names, personal stories, teachings, safety rules, historical narratives, and explanations of empirical and spiritual connections that people create with the natural world.
